Description

Smooth sumac (Rhus glabra) is the only tree/shrub which can be found in all of the 48 contiguous states and blooms late June-July. Lots of minerals give this honey its dark color. Sumac honey is a rich, dark amber honey with a bold, complex profile. It features a sweet, slightly buttery and nutty flavor, brightened by subtle citrus or lime zest notes, and finishes with a gentle, lingering earthiness.
